It may be that the best thing we can do in life is make stories for ourselves. And out there, far from home, if we throw ourselves into the wild unknown, we can run into novel plots and characters daily.

I try to explore this world whenever I can. So far, I’ve travelled on land throughout Europe, North America, the Indian sub-continent, Indonesia, Australasia, the Middle East and parts of Africa, and by sea from the Mediterranean to the Baltic. Yet it always feels like just the beginning, there is so much more to see.

I try to write about my travels, starting to do so online in 2009 with my then-partner, over at Benemma.org and now here, in the Travelogue pages of this section. The writing is typically long-winded and aimless, with only cursory editing, but I make no apologies.
